M.Ed., LPC, NCC

I received my undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University in 2005. From there I obtained my Masters of Education in Counseling at the University of Montevallo in 2007. While in the counseling program at Montevallo, I served as an intern at the Bessemer Children’s Advocacy Center. It was during this time that I grew a passion for working with children. I served as one of the two counselors at the Shelby County Children’s Advocacy center for 14.5 years, working with victims of child abuse. I also have experience working within the school systems as well. I have received my certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and AutPlay, and have attended many trainings on play therapy techniques and interventions, all of which I incorporate into my therapy while working with children. I am excited to be on-board at Pesek Counseling Services and hope I can make an impact in the lives of the children I serve while there.
